Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. These waters are often preferred for relaxation in hot weather, as the water temperature does not cool the body significantly. However, it is important to remember that in such warm waters, caution is necessary, as prolonged exposure without rest can lead to overheating. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Srebarna (Bulgarian: Сребърна (резерват)) is a shallow freshwater lake and protected reserve on the Danube plain. Its water temperatures vary with the seasons and the shallow depth, typically running from about 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter when ice or near-freezing conditions can occur, through spring values around 8–16 °C (46–61 °F). In summer the surface can warm substantially, often reaching roughly 20–28 °C (68–82 °F) on warm days, while autumn cools back toward 10–16 °C (50–61 °F). Short-term fluctuations are common because of wind, river inflow, and the lake’s reed-fringed margins, so measured temperatures can vary by several degrees over days.
Swimming within the Srebarna reserve is generally not allowed and is discouraged for conservation and safety reasons. The site is managed to protect nesting and migratory waterbirds and their fragile wetland habitat, and human disturbance such as bathing or unauthorized boating would harm breeding colonies and disturb reedbeds. In addition, the lake’s shallow, vegetated bottoms and uneven underwater terrain can present hazards. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the reserve from designated observation points and trails rather than by entering the water.
