*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lacul Grivița (Lacul Grivița) in the Bucharest–Ilfov area typically shows marked seasonal variation in water temperature. In winter the surface will often be close to freezing, roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while spring sees a gradual rise to around 6–15 °C (43–59 °F). During the warmest months of summer surface temperatures commonly range between 20–25 °C (68–77 °F), occasionally reaching the upper twenties Celsius (about 79–82 °F) on particularly hot days. In autumn the water cools again to roughly 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). These are approximate typical values for a shallow urban reservoir and can vary with weather, wind and inflow from the Colentina river system.
Swimming at Lacul Grivița is generally not promoted as an official recreational activity. Local authorities tend to discourage bathing because the lake is not regularly monitored or managed for safe public swimming: there are no lifeguards, limited water quality testing, potential contamination from urban runoff, and submerged hazards or boat traffic can create risks. As a result, official signage and municipal rules often advise against entering the water, even though some people may swim informally. For safe swimming, municipal beaches or monitored facilities with water-quality controls and rescue services are a better choice.
