** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lacul Fundeni (Lacul Fundeni) is part of the Colentina river chain in the Bucharest–Ilfov area and exhibits the seasonal temperature patterns typical of small urban reservoirs. In spring (March–May) surface temperatures commonly range from about 6–16 °C (43–61 °F) as the water warms after winter. In summer (June–August) surface temperatures typically rise to roughly 18–27 °C (64–81 °F), with shallow bays warming fastest on hot days. During autumn (September–November) the lake cools back to approximately 8–16 °C (46–61 °F), and in winter (December–February) surface temperatures often fall near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and can freeze in particularly cold winters. Actual temperatures vary with depth, wind, and recent weather, and heatwaves or cold snaps will push values outside these ranges.
Swimming at Lacul Fundeni is generally not officially promoted or supervised; local authorities do not designate it as an organised bathing area, and there are safety and water-quality reasons for caution. Urban runoff, occasional algal growth, submerged debris, and boat or fishing activity can pose health and accident risks, and there are typically no lifeguards or sanitation facilities. Some people swim there informally in summer, but it is done at their own risk rather than as a sanctioned recreational activity.
