*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Tei (Lacul Tei) in the Bucharest–Ilfov area is a relatively shallow urban lake, so its water temperature follows local seasonal patterns and can change quickly. In winter the surface often drops to around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) and may freeze in cold spells. Spring sees a steady rise, typically 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as air temperatures warm. In summer the water commonly ranges from about 18–26 °C (64–79 °F), with shallow bays sometimes reaching the upper 20s °C (around 82 °F) during heat waves. Autumn cooling brings temperatures back toward the spring range, often 8–14 °C (46–57 °F).
Swimming at Lacul Tei is not generally promoted or officially organized. Local regulations and park management generally discourage or prohibit bathing because the lake lacks designated swimming facilities, lifeguards and regular water-quality monitoring; nutrient runoff and occasional algal growth can affect safety and hygiene. As a result, while some people may enter the water informally during warm periods, such activity remains unofficial and carries risks related to water quality, underwater hazards and boat traffic. Visitors seeking safe swimming opportunities are advised to use supervised public pools or officially sanctioned beaches where monitoring and emergency services are available.
