** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lacul Dâmbovița (Lacul Dâmbovița) is an urban water body in the Bucharest-Ilfov area whose water temperature varies with the seasons and local weather. During winter the surface temperature often falls close to freezing, typically around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F). In spring temperatures rise from roughly 6–18 °C (43–64 °F) as the air warms, while summer brings the warmest conditions, with surface temperatures commonly in the 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) range on calm, sunny days; shallow bays can be warmer. In autumn the temperature usually declines to about 9–16 °C (48–61 °F). These ranges depend on factors such as depth, inflows from the Dâmbovița River, shading, and recent weather patterns, so actual values can shift year to year.
Swimming at Lacul Dâmbovița is generally not recommended and in many areas is restricted for safety and health reasons. Local authorities often discourage or prohibit bathing because urban lakes can suffer from variable water quality, occasional algal blooms, and pollution, and because there may be no lifeguards, marked swimming zones, or clear information about underwater hazards. During organized events or in designated, monitored sections where water quality is tested and safety measures are in place, supervised swimming might be allowed; otherwise people are advised to follow posted regulations and official guidance.
