** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Krøderen (Norwegian: Krøderen) is a long inland lake in the former Buskerud region of Norway where water temperatures reflect the northern climate and local weather. Seasonal surface temperatures commonly range from roughly 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) in winter when parts of the lake may be ice covered, through spring warming to about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F). In summer the lake typically reaches 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) in most areas, and in particularly warm summers shallow bays can climb occasionally toward 22–24 °C (72–75 °F). During autumn the water cools back to around 6–12 °C (43–54 °F). Deeper or shaded parts of the lake remain noticeably colder than shallow shorelines.
Swimming in Krøderen is generally permitted and commonly practiced at beaches and accessible shorelines because the lake is used for recreation and normally meets local bathing standards. However, conditions vary: cold water temperatures outside high summer increase the risk of cold shock and rapid loss of body heat, and boat traffic, sudden depth changes and local currents can affect safety. Bathers should choose sheltered shallow spots for warmer water, follow posted notices or local guidance, and use appropriate precautions such as life jackets or gradual immersion when water is cool.
