*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Lagos de Saliencia are a group of small glacial lakes in the Somiedo region of Asturias. Because they sit in a cool, mountainous environment, their surface temperatures stay low year-round. Typical seasonal ranges are roughly: winter near freezing, about 0–3 °C (32–37 °F); spring around 4–10 °C (39–50 °F) as snowmelt feeds the basins; summer rarely warms above 10–18 °C (50–64 °F) even on warm afternoons; and autumn cooling back to roughly 5–12 °C (41–54 °F). These figures are approximate and can vary with altitude, recent weather, and wind, but they illustrate that even summer temperatures are brisk compared with lowland bathing waters.
Swimming at the Lagos de Saliencia is possible in the literal sense but is generally uncommon and often discouraged. The lakes lie within a protected natural park where regulations and signage control recreational uses to protect sensitive habitats and species; moreover, the very cold water, sudden weather changes and lack of lifeguards pose safety risks. Visitors wishing to enter the water should check local rules, respect conservation measures, and be prepared for cold temperatures that can quickly cause hypothermia; for most people, enjoying the scenery and brief wading is a safer choice than extended swimming.
