*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The lake known as Embalse de las Rozas (in Spanish: Embalse de las Rozas) is an inland reservoir in Castile and León whose surface water temperatures follow the continental climate of the plateau. Seasonal surface temperatures typically range from about 2–8 °C (36–46 °F) in winter, 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) in spring, 18–25 °C (64–77 °F) in summer, and 10–16 °C (50–61 °F) in autumn. These values vary with air temperature, recent rainfall, inflow from tributaries and the depth of the reservoir: surface layers warm more quickly in calm, sunny conditions while deeper water remains cooler. Short-term heat waves or cold snaps can push readings above or below these typical bands.
Swimming at Embalse de las Rozas is not universally promoted and access depends on local regulations and the reservoir’s management objectives. Many reservoirs in the region are managed for water supply, flood control or irrigation, and authorities may restrict bathing to protect water quality and ensure safety; there are often no lifeguards, and steep banks, sudden depth changes and boat traffic increase risk. Informal swimming sometimes occurs during warm months when surface temperatures are most comfortable, but visitors should check posted rules, respect prohibition signs if present, and take standard precautions against cold-water shock and currents.
