*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Narta Lagoon (Laguna e Nartës) near Vlorë is a shallow coastal lagoon whose water temperatures reflect Mediterranean conditions and strong seasonal variation. In winter the lagoon commonly registers around 10–14 °C (50–57 °F), spring brings a rise to roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F), and summer surface temperatures often warm to about 24–30 °C (75–86 °F) in sunny, calm periods; autumn then cools to roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F). Because the lagoon is relatively shallow and partially sheltered from open sea currents, it can warm faster than the nearby Ionian coast on hot days and cool more quickly in cold spells. Local inflows, wind, and freshwater inputs further influence these averages, so day-to-day values may differ.
Swimming is physically possible in parts of the lagoon, but opportunities are limited compared with adjacent coastal beaches. Large sections of Laguna e Nartës are part of a protected wetland with sensitive bird and plant habitats, and some areas have vegetation, shallow mud, or variable water quality, which can make bathing impractical or discouraged. For safe and pleasant swimming most visitors prefer nearby sandy shorelines along the open coast of Vlorë County, while those considering entering the lagoon should heed local signage, seasonal restrictions, and water quality advisories.
