*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Karavasta Lagoon (Laguna e Karavastasë) is a shallow coastal wetland on Albania’s Adriatic coast, so its water temperature varies markedly with season and weather. Typical seasonal ranges are roughly 7–13 °C (45–55 °F) in winter, 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) in spring, 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) in summer and 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in autumn. Because the lagoon is shallow and sheltered, it tends to warm up quickly in sunny months and cool down rapidly in cold spells; salinity and local freshwater inputs also influence measured temperatures in different parts of the lagoon.
Swimming in the main body of the lagoon is generally limited and often discouraged rather than promoted. Divjakë-Karavasta is a protected area with sensitive bird and fish habitats, and many channels and reed beds have muddy bottoms, variable water quality and shallow depths that make open bathing less suitable. Visitors who want to swim usually use nearby Adriatic beaches outside the protected zones or follow park regulations and designated spots where recreational access is permitted. The combination of conservation aims, safety and water conditions is the main reason for restrictions on swimming in the lagoon itself.
