Lake Lappalanjärvi, located in the Kymenlaakso region of southeastern Finland near Kouvola, is a medium-sized freshwater lake known for its clear water and natural beauty. The lake’s moderate depth and sheltered location cause its water temperature to vary noticeably through the year. In spring, after the ice melts, surface water temperatures are typically around 5–8 °C (41–46 °F). During early summer, the water warms gradually to about 15–18 °C (59–64 °F), and in July, the warmest month, it usually reaches 19–22 °C (66–72 °F). On very warm days, shallow areas may briefly reach 23–24 °C (73–75 °F). In autumn, the water cools below 10 °C (50 °F), and the lake usually freezes in late November or early December.
