Lake Jääsjärvi, located in the Päijät-Häme region of southern Finland, is a large and deep lake known for its clear water and natural beauty. The water temperature varies considerably through the year, reflecting Finland’s distinct seasons. In spring, after the ice cover melts, the temperature remains low at around 5–8 °C (41–46 °F). During early summer, the surface warms to 14–17 °C (57–63 °F), and by July the lake typically reaches 19–22 °C (66–72 °F). In sheltered coves, the temperature can occasionally rise to 23–24 °C (73–75 °F). By October, it cools below 10 °C (50 °F), and freezing usually begins in late November.
Swimming in Jääsjärvi is officially allowed and widely enjoyed. The lake’s water is clean, and the surrounding nature offers peaceful settings for bathing.
