*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Tuusula (Tuusulanjärvi/Tusby träsk) in Uusimaa is a significant, although shallow, lake popular for recreation and swimming, bordering municipalities like Järvenpää and Tuusula. Swimming is permissible along its accessible shores and at designated public beaches under Finland's Everyman’s Rights, which grants public freedom of access to natural water bodies. Due to its history of eutrophication, local authorities rigorously monitor the water quality, including bacterial counts and blue-green algae, particularly throughout the official summer bathing season, to ensure the safety and hygiene of the swimming areas.
The shallow nature of the lake, with an average depth of approximately 3.2 m, results in rapid warming of the surface water during the summer. During the peak season, mainly July, comfortable swimming temperatures are found, typically ranging from 20∘C to 24∘C, with historical highs recorded up to 28.4∘C in hot weather. Conversely, the lake is normally ice-covered for around four months, generally from December to April. During this cold period, the sub-ice water temperature remains consistently near freezing, at approximately 0∘C to 4∘C, though the lake is a traditional location for winter swimming.
