*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Långsvan (in Swedish Långsvan) is a small inland lake in Västmanland County where water temperatures follow typical northern temperate patterns. During winter the lake usually approaches freezing, with surface temperatures around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) under ice cover. In spring, as ice breaks up, waters commonly warm to roughly 4–10 °C (39–50 °F). Summer brings the warmest conditions: on average surface temperatures reach about 15–22 °C (59–72 °F), and in shallow bays or during heatwaves readings can climb toward 24 °C (75 °F) or slightly higher. In autumn the lake cools again, with temperatures typically falling to 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) before ice formation resumes.
Swimming in Långsvan is generally possible and commonly practiced in summer because there are no universal prohibitions and many lakes in the region have public access along their shores. Local rules, private property boundaries, water quality advisories and safety signage should always be observed; occasionally algae blooms or pollution episodes can make bathing inadvisable. Ice swimming is also undertaken by experienced bathers when conditions are controlled, but it requires proper equipment and precautions. Overall, seasonal temperature ranges determine when casual swimming is comfortable, while water quality and safety considerations determine whether it is advisable at any given time.
