*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Färnebofjärden, a series of broad river bays along the Dalälven in Uppsala County (Swedish: Färnebofjärden), shows pronounced seasonal variation in surface water temperature. In spring the water is cold, typically around 1–8 °C (34–46 °F) as snowmelt and river flow dominate. Summer brings the warmest conditions: shallow and sheltered bays often reach 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) in July and August, and on warm, calm days some sheltered spots can climb to about 23–24 °C (73–75 °F). In early autumn temperatures generally fall to roughly 5–12 °C (41–54 °F), and in winter the water is near freezing, about 0–2 °C (32–36 °F), with ice cover common in colder years.
Swimming in Färnebofjärden is generally permitted under Sweden’s public right of access, and many people bathe in the bays and at informal beaches, but conditions vary and caution is advised. Because the area is part river system there can be local currents, submerged vegetation, sudden depth changes and boat traffic; parts of the national park are also protected, which can limit certain activities. Safety considerations — cold-water shock in spring and autumn, variable bottoms and limited lifeguarding — are the main reasons visitors should choose sheltered spots, check local guidance and avoid risky stretches when deciding to swim.
