Lake Zazari (Λίμνη Ζάζαρη) in Western Macedonia is a relatively small, shallow lake whose surface temperatures vary strongly with season, weather and inflow. Typical seasonal ranges are roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F) in spring, 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) in summer, 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) in autumn and about 2–6 °C (36–43 °F) in winter. Because the lake is not very deep, it tends to warm quickly on sunny summer days and cool rapidly in cold spells; wind, rainfall and river or runoff inputs can also change surface temperatures from week to week.
Swimming is commonly practiced in warm months when surface temperatures reach the 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) range and bathing is comfortable, but whether it is formally allowed depends on local regulations, water quality monitoring and safety conditions.
