*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Techniti Limni Polifitou (Τεχνητή Λίμνη Πολυφύτου) is a large artificial reservoir in Western Macedonia whose water temperature varies with the season and local conditions. In winter the surface typically cools to about 4–8 °C (39–46 °F), spring temperatures rise to roughly 8–18 °C (46–64 °F) as the upper layers warm, and summer usually brings the warmest surface readings of around 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), with shallow bays occasionally reaching near 27–28 °C (81–82 °F). In autumn the surface tends to fall back toward 12–20 °C (54–68 °F) as cooling and mixing resume. Temperature can change quickly with depth and weather, so measured surface values may not reflect colder thermoclines below.
Swimming in Polyfytos is possible in many sheltered coves and along accessible shorelines, but there are no widely advertised official beaches or lifeguard services, and parts of the reservoir around dam works, intake structures or active navigation are restricted for safety. Local authorities and signs may prohibit entry in specific zones because of underwater hazards, sudden depth changes, boat traffic and infrastructure. Water quality is generally suitable in open areas but can fluctuate with runoff and seasonal conditions, so exercising caution, checking local guidance and avoiding prohibited zones is advisable before swimming.
