*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Iso-Roine, located in the Kanta-Häme region of southern Finland near Hauho, is a deep and clear freshwater lake that is part of the Kokemäenjoki water system. Because of its considerable depth, the water temperature in Iso-Roine changes more slowly than in smaller nearby lakes. In spring, after the ice melts, the surface water remains cold at around 5–8 °C (41–46 °F). During early summer, the temperature rises to 14–17 °C (57–63 °F), and in July, at the warmest time of year, it typically reaches 18–21 °C (64–70 °F). In shallow bays, water may briefly warm to 22–23 °C (72–73 °F). By autumn, temperatures drop below 10 °C (50 °F), and the lake usually freezes in late November or December.
Swimming in Iso-Roine is officially allowed and widely enjoyed during the summer. The lake’s water is clean and of good quality, with several small beaches and piers around Hauho and nearby villages. Because of the depth, the water stays refreshingly cool even in July, making it ideal for open-water swimming and other water activities. The surrounding nature, quiet atmosphere, and scenic forested shores provide an inviting environment for relaxation and swimming in a natural Finnish setting.
