** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Pomorie (Поморийско езеро) is a shallow, coastal salt lagoon whose water temperature varies noticeably with the seasons because of its low depth and exposure. Typical spring temperatures range roughly from 10 to 20 °C (50 to 68 °F) as the lagoon warms, while summer surface temperatures commonly reach about 22 to 30 °C (72 to 86 °F), and can be warmer in shallow salt pans on hot days. In autumn the water cools back to about 12 to 20 °C (54 to 68 °F), and winter values often sit between about 0 and 8 °C (32 to 46 °F), with the shallow basin responding quickly to cold spells.
Swimming in Lake Pomorie is possible in some places but is not uniformly encouraged: parts of the lagoon are protected as bird habitat and some areas are actively used for salt production and therapeutic mud collection, so access can be restricted. Where bathing is permitted, the high salinity increases buoyancy and the lake’s curative mud is used in regulated spa treatments rather than casual swimming. Visitors should follow local signage and regulations, avoid sensitive zones, and be aware that salty water and soft muddy bottoms may irritate skin or eyes and make footing uncertain; many people prefer the nearby Black Sea beaches for conventional swimming.
