*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Mandrensko (Язовир Мандра) is a shallow coastal reservoir near Burgas whose water temperature varies with the seasons, local weather and inflows. In winter the surface typically cools to around 0–6 °C (32–43 °F), while spring warming brings temperatures up to roughly 8–16 °C (46–61 °F). In summer the shallows can reach their warmest, commonly 22–28 °C (72–82 °F) on hot days, and in autumn surface temperatures usually fall back to about 12–20 °C (54–68 °F). Short-term swings are common after heat waves, storms or heavy freshwater inflows, and deeper or more shaded bays may remain several degrees colder than exposed shallows.
Swimming at Mandrensko is not broadly promoted as an organized bathing location; locals may swim there in summer, but access and conditions vary. Parts of the reservoir and adjacent wetlands have environmental protections for birdlife, and areas around the dam, intake structures or busy fishing spots are restricted for safety. Water quality can fluctuate because of agricultural runoff, urban discharges and reed-choked littoral zones, so authorities sometimes advise against bathing in specific places. Anyone considering swimming should follow local signage, check with municipal authorities about current restrictions and be mindful of hazards such as sudden drop-offs, underwater vegetation and boat traffic.
