*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Peiteli (Latvian: Peiteļa ezers) is a typical Latvian freshwater body where seasonal water temperatures follow the climate of the region. In winter the lake surface usually approaches freezing, with water near 0 °C (32 °F) beneath ice; ice cover is common from late November or December until March in colder years. In spring temperatures climb slowly, often ranging from about 1–10 °C (34–50 °F) as meltwater and cool air persist. By late spring and early summer the lake commonly warms to 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), and in the warmest weeks of July and August surface temperatures often reach 17–22 °C (63–72 °F), sometimes locally rising toward 24 °C (75 °F) in shallow, sheltered bays.
Swimming in Lake Peiteli is generally possible and practiced during the warmer months when the water temperature is comfortable and there is no ice. Public bathing may be allowed at informal or designated spots, but conditions vary: safety considerations such as underwater hazards, lack of lifeguards, water clarity and the occasional occurrence of cyanobacterial blooms can lead local authorities to advise against swimming or to post temporary bans. Visitors should observe signage and local guidance and avoid entering the water when warnings about water quality or unsafe conditions are in effect.
