*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Dagda (Dagdas ezers) in eastern Latvia is a typical temperate lake whose water temperature fluctuates through the seasons. In late spring, as ice melts and air temperatures rise, surface temperatures commonly range from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F). During summer months the lake can warm to roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), with the warmest weeks sometimes pushing slightly higher on calm, sunny days. In early autumn the water cools back into the 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) range before winter sets in; under ice cover the water near the bottom will stay close to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), while surface temperatures are at freezing when ice forms.
Swimming in Dagdas ezers is generally possible and commonly undertaken in the warmer months because summer surface temperatures reach levels comfortable for bathing and there are accessible shorelines. Whether a specific spot is maintained for safe swimming depends on local amenities, water-quality monitoring and signage, so visitors should follow posted guidance. In spring and autumn the lower temperatures make extended swims uncomfortable and increase cold-shock risk. In winter the lake is ice-covered and open-water swimming is unsafe for most people; ice swimming is only for experienced participants using proper precautions and local knowledge.
