*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Zolvas, like many small inland lakes in Latvia, shows clear seasonal variation in surface water temperature. In spring, as ice melts and waters begin to warm, surface temperatures are commonly around 3–10 °C (37–50 °F). Early summer brings milder conditions, often 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), while the warmest period in July–August typically reaches about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) at the surface on sunny years. By late summer and early autumn temperatures fall back toward 10–18 °C (50–64 °F). In winter the lake is usually near freezing and often ice-covered, with liquid surface temperatures close to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) beneath the ice.
Swimming in Lake Zolvas is generally possible during the ice-free season and is commonly practiced where local access exists, but it depends on local water quality, facilities and any posted restrictions. There may be no formal lifeguard service or managed beach, so swimmers should check for local signage about bathing safety and recent water tests before entering. Cold or sudden weather changes, underwater plants and variable depth can affect comfort and safety; winter swimming under or through ice is hazardous and should only be done with proper supervision and equipment during organised events.
