Hrast Lake is a small artificial lake located near Gradačac in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Surrounded by greenery and gentle hills, it is known for its calm and clean water. The lake follows a typical continental temperature pattern: in winter, the water cools down to around 3–5 °C, while in summer it warms up to 22–26 °C, depending on the depth and weather conditions. Because it is relatively shallow and protected from strong winds, the water heats up quickly in late spring, making it pleasant for swimming during the summer months.
Swimming in Hrast Lake is allowed and quite popular among locals, especially from June to early September. The lake has clear water and accessible banks, making it suitable for families and recreational swimmers. However, like most small lakes, it can occasionally experience algae growth in very hot periods, so it is best to swim when the water is clean and well-maintained. Besides swimming, visitors often come for fishing, picnicking, and relaxation in a quiet natural setting.
