*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Bočac Lake (Bočačko jezero) is a significant artificial accumulation on the Vrbas River in Bosnia and Herzegovina, created by the Bočac Hydroelectric Power Plant. As a river-fed reservoir, its water temperature is strongly influenced by the cold Vrbas and the reservoir's depth. Consequently, the lake remains quite cold throughout the year. In winter, temperatures typically hover between 4∘C and 8∘C, sometimes seeing surface ice near the banks. Even during the height of summer, the water warms modestly, generally reaching a maximum surface temperature of about 18∘C to 21∘C in August.
Swimming in Bočac Lake is undertaken informally, but is generally not officially designated or promoted due to the lake's function as a working power system reservoir. While locals may use quieter, secluded bays for cooling off during hot summer days, caution is advised. The water, though visually attractive, is relatively cold and deep, and conditions can change quickly due to dam operations affecting currents and water levels. Therefore, swimming is practiced at the individual's own risk, and it is not a primary tourist activity in the region.
