Šatorsko Lake, located on Mount Šator near the town of Glamoč in western Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a glacial mountain lake situated at an altitude of around 1,480 meters. Due to its high elevation, the lake maintains cool water temperatures throughout the year. In winter, the surface often freezes, with temperatures close to 0–2°C. In spring, the water gradually warms to 6–10°C, while in summer, even during the warmest months of July and August, it rarely exceeds 16–18°C. In autumn, the temperature drops again to about 8–12°C.
Swimming in Šatorsko Lake is possible but not common because of the cold water. However, some visitors take short, refreshing swims during the summer when air temperatures are pleasant. The water is exceptionally clear and pure, surrounded by alpine meadows and rocky peaks, creating a beautiful natural setting. There are no official beaches or facilities, and the lake is primarily visited for hiking, picnicking, and enjoying the mountain landscape. For those accustomed to colder waters, a dip in Šatorsko Lake is a memorable experience in untouched nature.
