In early spring the lake is cold as it thaws, typically ranging from about 40–60°F (4–15°C) depending on air temperatures and lingering ice. By mid to late summer surface temperatures commonly rise into the mid‑60s to mid‑70s°F (18–24°C), and in shallow bays on warm, calm days they can approach the upper 70s or low 80s°F (25–28°C).
