** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Embalse de Beniarrés, located in the Valencian Community of Spain, is a mountain-fed reservoir whose water temperature varies substantially through the year. In winter surface temperatures typically sit around 8–12 °C (46–54 °F), while spring brings a rise to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F) as solar heating increases. Summer surface temperatures commonly reach 20–26 °C (68–79 °F) on warm days, though deeper water can remain several degrees cooler. In autumn the lake generally cools to about 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). These figures are indicative; actual temperatures depend on depth, inflows from the Serpis river, recent rainfall and heatwaves, and morning-to-evening fluctuations.
Swimming at the Embalse de Beniarrés is subject to restrictions and local regulations; many reservoirs in the region are managed for water supply and safety, so bathing is often officially prohibited or discouraged to protect water quality and because reservoirs pose hazards such as sudden depth changes, submerged structures and boat traffic. Enforcement and signage can vary, and some visitors do enter the water at their own risk in permitted areas or informal access points. If you plan to swim, check current local rules and posted notices, and be aware of variable temperatures that can increase the risk of cold-water shock even in summer.
