** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Estany del Pujol, a shallow coastal lagoon near Valencia, typically shows noticeable seasonal changes in water temperature. In winter the surface water usually sits around 10–14 °C (50–57 °F), rising through spring to roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). During the warmest months the lagoon can reach approximately 20–26 °C (68–79 °F), and during extreme heat events shallow areas may approach 28 °C (82 °F). In autumn temperatures commonly fall back into the 16–22 °C (61–72 °F) range as winds and rain cool the basin. Because the estany is relatively shallow and influenced by weather, temperatures can vary quickly between sunny and cloudy periods.
Swimming at Estany del Pujol is generally restricted or discouraged. The lagoon lies within a sensitive wetland system where rules aim to protect birdlife, aquatic vegetation and water quality, and bathing is often not allowed except in officially designated spots. Even in areas without a formal ban, conditions such as muddy bottoms, dense reeds, low visibility and occasional algal growth from nutrient runoff make it less suitable and potentially unsafe for casual swimming. Visitors should follow local signage and park regulations and prefer nearby supervised beaches or authorized swimming areas for recreation.
