** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The Albufera de València is a shallow coastal lagoon south of the city of Valencia, and its water temperatures reflect the Mediterranean climate and the lake’s shallow depth. Seasonal averages typically range from about 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) in winter, through roughly 13–20 °C (55–68 °F) in spring, rising to 22–30 °C (72–86 °F) in summer, and cooling to around 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) in autumn. Because the lagoon is shallow and sheltered, it can warm faster than the open sea in summer and cool more quickly in winter; local conditions such as wind, rainfall and freshwater inflows also affect short‑term variations.
Swimming within the Albufera de València is generally discouraged and in many zones is prohibited, since the lake lies inside a protected natural park and is important for birdlife, vegetation and traditional rice cultivation. Restrictions aim to reduce disturbance to wildlife and to avoid damage to reed beds and sensitive habitats; water quality can also be variable due to agricultural runoff and sediment. Recreational activities such as boating, kayaking and guided nature outings are available under park rules, but anyone considering entering the water should check current regulations and local signage because permitted access is limited and managed to protect the reserve.
