Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Embalse de Forata is a mid-sized reservoir in the province of Valencia whose water temperature follows the seasonal patterns typical of inland Mediterranean lakes. In winter the surface usually cools to roughly 4–10 °C (39–50 °F), spring and autumn see moderate warming to about 12–20 °C (54–68 °F), and in summer surface temperatures commonly reach 20–27 °C (68–81 °F) depending on weather and water level. Temperature stratification can occur in warm months, so deeper layers remain markedly colder. Short-term fluctuations follow air temperature, rainfall and inflows from tributary streams, so conditions can change between calm, warm spells and fresh pulses after storms.
Swimming at Embalse de Forata is generally discouraged or restricted rather than actively promoted, primarily for safety and water-management reasons. Many reservoirs around Valencia serve as drinking-water sources or supply irrigation and are subject to regulations that limit recreational bathing to protect water quality; in addition, steep banks, submerged hazards and lack of lifeguards make unsupervised swimming risky. Informal bathing may occur on quiet days, but visitors should respect posted signs and local rules and consult the municipal authority before entering the water.
