*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
The lake Åländern (in Swedish: Åländern) in Östergötland typically follows the seasonal temperature patterns of small inland Swedish lakes. During winter the surface often approaches 0 °C (32 °F) and can be ice-covered for periods, while early spring surface temperatures commonly range from about 1–8 °C (34–46 °F) as snowmelt and runoff cool the water. In summer the surface warms more markedly, with typical ranges of roughly 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) and on warm, calm summers occasional readings up to about 24 °C (75 °F). In autumn the water cools back to approximately 5–12 °C (41–54 °F) before freezing again as temperatures fall.
Swimming in Åländern is generally possible and is a common recreational activity in the warmer months, since Swedish public access rights usually allow shoreline use unless specific restrictions are posted. Local water quality, safety and private property boundaries determine the practical opportunities: beaches and public docks are the safest places to swim, while remote or vegetated shores can have sudden depths, low visibility or cyanobacterial blooms in hot weather. Visitors should heed municipal water quality notices, posted warnings and standard safety precautions; ice swimming or winter bathing requires appropriate experience and safety measures.
