*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Västra Lägern is a smaller lake in Östergötland County, Sweden, and like many inland lakes in the region it exhibits clear seasonal variation in water temperature. In spring the surface temperature typically ranges from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as ice melts and waters begin to warm. By early summer temperatures often rise to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), peaking in midsummer at around 17–22 °C (63–72 °F) on warm years. In autumn the surface cools back to roughly 5–12 °C (41–54 °F), and in winter the lake can sit at or below freezing near 0 °C (32 °F) when ice cover is present.
Swimming at Västra Lägern is generally possible and commonly practiced when conditions permit, largely because Swedish access rights allow bathing in most public waters. Practicality and safety depend on season, water quality and local signage: summer temperatures are most comfortable for open-water swimming, while spring and autumn are chilly without a wetsuit and winter swimming requires ice safety measures. Local municipal advisories or private shoreline restrictions may limit access, so visitors should check posted information and heed safety precautions before entering the water.
