*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Glan, located in Östergötland County in southern Sweden near the city of Norrköping, is a large freshwater lake known for its clear water and scenic surroundings. The lake’s temperature varies greatly with the seasons due to Sweden’s cool continental climate. In spring, the water typically remains cold, ranging between 6 and 12 °C, while in early summer it begins to warm. During July and August, surface temperatures usually reach 18–22 °C, sometimes higher during prolonged warm periods. In autumn, the temperature gradually falls back to around 10–15 °C, and in winter it often drops below 4 °C, with parts of the lake occasionally freezing over during colder spells.
Swimming in Lake Glan is allowed and popular during the summer months, particularly along the accessible shores near Norrköping and Svärtinge. The warmest period for bathing is from late June through August, when the water feels pleasant and the air temperatures are comfortable. The lake’s clean water and gentle depth near the beaches make it suitable for both families and recreational swimmers. Outside the summer season, swimming becomes less common due to the low water temperature, but the lake remains attractive for fishing, boating, and enjoying the peaceful natural landscape.
