*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Agency Lake, in south-central Oregon, is a shallow, broad water body whose surface temperatures vary notably with the seasons. In winter the lake commonly hovers near freezing to the low 40s °F (0–5 °C). Spring warming typically brings surface conditions into the mid-40s to around 60 °F (7–16 °C). By summer, shallow areas warm most, with common surface temperatures in the mid-60s to mid-70s °F (18–24 °C) and occasional stretches into the low 80s °F (about 27–28 °C) during heat waves. Fall sees a steady decline, often ranging from roughly 50 to 65 °F (10–18 °C) as the lake cools toward winter.
Swimming at Agency Lake is permitted and people do enter the water, especially at shoreline access points and recreation areas, but conditions warrant caution. The lake’s shallowness, aquatic vegetation and often-murky water can make swim conditions less comfortable and visibility poor, and cooler temperatures persist outside the warmest weeks. Additionally, the lake can experience water-quality issues such as algal blooms at times, so swimmers are advised to check current local advisories and use designated access areas; lifeguards are typically not provided, so personal safety precautions are important.
