*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Strumica is a city located in the southeastern part of North Macedonia, known for its hot, Mediterranean-influenced continental climate. The main natural water body is the Strumica River, which flows through the region, and the nearby Vodoča Lake (reservoir). The temperature of the Strumica River is heavily influenced by the seasonal air temperatures. In winter, the river's temperature is typically cold, ranging from 4∘C to 8∘C. However, the notoriously hot summers allow the river and the shallower parts of the reservoir to warm up considerably, with surface temperatures often peaking between 22∘C and 26∘C in the hottest months.
Swimming in the Strumica River and its related water bodies is not officially recommended or permitted. For the Strumica River itself, the concern is primarily water quality, as it flows through agricultural and urban areas, resulting in potential contamination risks, which makes it unsafe for bathing. While the nearby Vodoča Lake may have appealing summer temperatures, it is a key reservoir for irrigation and lacks the necessary safety infrastructure (designated beaches, lifeguards), meaning any informal swimming carries personal risk and is discouraged by authorities.
