Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Leskovac is a city in southern Serbia, located in the valley of the South Morava River, surrounded by gentle hills and fertile plains. The South Morava and its tributaries, such as the Jablanica and Veternica rivers, define much of the area’s water environment. Due to the continental climate, water temperatures vary significantly throughout the year. In spring, river water averages 10–15 °C, while in summer it warms to 20–25 °C, occasionally reaching 26 °C during prolonged heat. In autumn, the temperature falls to around 14–18 °C, and in winter it often drops below 5 °C. The calm stretches of the rivers and small reservoirs around Leskovac offer pleasant conditions for recreation.
Swimming in the rivers near Leskovac is allowed and common among locals, especially in July and August when the water is warmest. People often swim in calm areas of the South Morava and in smaller lakes formed by dams. However, due to varying depths and occasional stronger currents, caution is recommended. The water is generally clean enough for bathing in summer, and the region’s natural surroundings make outdoor activities enjoyable. Fishing, picnicking, and swimming are popular ways to enjoy the local rivers and lakes during warm weather.
