Solgen (Swedish: Solgen) is a modest lake in Jönköping County whose surface temperatures follow the seasonal pattern typical for southern Swedish inland waters. During winter the lake commonly approaches freezing, with surface readings around 0 °C (32 °F) and extended periods of ice cover possible in cold years. In spring the water warms gradually, often ranging from about 2–12 °C (36–54 °F) depending on air temperatures and sunshine. Peak summer surface temperatures are usually the most comfortable for bathing, commonly between 16–23 °C (61–73 °F) on warm stretches, though shallow bays can become slightly warmer. In autumn the lake cools again, with typical values of 6–14 °C (43–57 °F) as air temperatures fall and stratification breaks down.
