*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Hulingen in Kalmar County, Sweden (Swedish: Hulingen) is a typical Småland lake with clear water and wooded shoreline. Surface temperatures vary strongly through the year: in summer the lake commonly warms to about 18–24 °C (64–75 °F), and during warm spells can reach the mid‑20s °C (around 77 °F). In late spring temperatures climb from roughly 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) as ice melts, while autumn sees a decline from about 15 °C to single digits (59 °F down to about 46 °F). In winter the surface is often near freezing, around 0–4 °C (32–39 °F), and parts of the lake can ice over for weeks or months depending on the season.
Swimming in Hulingen is generally permitted and commonly practiced from public beaches, docks and private shores under Sweden’s access rights, but local rules or nature protections can apply in certain areas. Municipal bathing spots are sometimes monitored for water quality, so conditions after heavy rain or during algal blooms should be checked locally. As with any natural lake, swimmers should be aware of sudden depth changes, underwater vegetation and lower temperatures outside midsummer; ice swimming is possible in winter but requires experience, safety measures and local guidance.
