Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. These waters are often preferred for relaxation in hot weather, as the water temperature does not cool the body significantly. However, it is important to remember that in such warm waters, caution is necessary, as prolonged exposure without rest can lead to overheating. It is important to note that these swimming tips and recommendations apply only in good weather. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Peckerwood Lake, a reservoir in Prairie County, Arkansas, is a private lake primarily used for irrigation and fishing, consistent with the Delta region's climate. As a relatively shallow body of water, its temperature readily follows the air temperature. In the cool winter months, the surface water temperature ranges from the 40s to low 50s F (4∘C to 13∘C). During the peak summer season, the lake warms significantly, with surface temperatures typically reaching a very comfortable and warm range, often peaking between 75∘F and 85∘F (24∘C to 29∘C).
Swimming in Peckerwood Lake is generally not a supported recreational activity. As a private reservoir, there are no designated or supervised public swimming beaches with lifeguards, and the focus of the lake is on its fisheries (channel catfish and crappie) and irrigation. Therefore, any swimming is undertaken strictly at one's own risk. Users should be mindful of the significant fishing and boating traffic, the lack of official water quality monitoring, and the presence of submerged hazards, making it an unsafe choice compared to nearby public state park facilities.
