Swimming in such conditions is perfect for those seeking relaxation and comfort in the water. These waters are often preferred for relaxation in hot weather, as the water temperature does not cool the body significantly. However, it is important to remember that in such warm waters, caution is necessary, as prolonged exposure without rest can lead to overheating. *** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Tunica Lake (also known as Tunica Cutoff) is an oxbow lake that straddles the border between Arkansas and Mississippi, experiencing water temperatures typical of the Delta's humid subtropical climate. Due to its shallow, oxbow nature, its temperature is highly responsive to the air temperature. In the cool winter months, water temperatures drop significantly, often reaching the range of 44∘F to 55∘F (7∘C to 13∘C). During the peak summer season, the lake warms considerably, with surface temperatures typically reaching a very comfortable and warm range, peaking between 75∘F and 85∘F (24∘C to 29∘C).
Swimming in Tunica Lake is generally discouraged and not supported by public facilities. The lake is primarily managed for its fisheries and is a popular destination for fishing and boating access. It does not feature any designated or supervised public swimming beaches with lifeguards, meaning all swimming is undertaken strictly at one's own risk. Swimmers should be especially cautious of the lack of official water quality monitoring and the presence of heavy boat traffic. The lake's connection to the Mississippi River system also means it can experience significant water level fluctuations and swift currents in the deeper channels.
