*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Brewer Lake, located near Conway in central Arkansas, is a man-made reservoir that provides both drinking water and recreational opportunities. The water temperature in Brewer Lake varies with the seasons, reflecting Arkansas’s humid subtropical climate. During winter, surface temperatures typically range from 7–11 °C (45–52 °F), and the lake is generally too cold for swimming. In spring, as air temperatures rise, the water warms gradually to around 15–21 °C (59–70 °F). By midsummer, the lake reaches its warmest period, with surface temperatures averaging 25–30 °C (77–86 °F), while deeper water stays slightly cooler. In autumn, the temperature drops again to about 15–20 °C (59–68 °F) as cooler nights return and the lake begins to mix.
Swimming in Brewer Lake is permitted in designated areas and is most comfortable between late May and early September, when the water reaches its peak warmth. The lake’s calm surface and moderate depth make it suitable for family swimming and other recreational activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding. However, as Brewer Lake also serves as a municipal water supply, access to some areas is restricted to protect water quality. Outside the summer season, cooler water temperatures and changing weather make swimming less enjoyable, though the lake remains popular for fishing and scenic relaxation.
