Østensjøvannet, a shallow lake in Oslo, shows clear seasonal swings in water temperature. In winter the surface is typically at or just below freezing, around 0 °C (32 °F), and the lake often freezes over. Spring thaw brings temperatures up to roughly 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) from April into May.
