Loch Lee is a remote freshwater lake located in Glen Esk, Angus, surrounded by rolling hills and open moorland. Fed by mountain streams, the loch stays cool throughout the year, reflecting the typical climate of the eastern Highlands. In winter, the water temperature usually ranges from 2–4 °C (36–39 °F), slowly rising in spring to about 7–9 °C (45–48 °F). During the summer months, the surface can warm to 13–15 °C (55–59 °F) on calm, sunny days, though deeper areas remain much colder. By autumn, the temperature typically drops again toward 8–10 °C (46–50 °F), maintaining the loch’s crisp and refreshing character through all seasons.
