** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Leaser Lake is a relatively small, man-made lake in eastern Pennsylvania whose surface temperatures follow the typical seasonal pattern for lakes in this region. In winter the water often sits near freezing, roughly 32–39°F (0–4°C), and may ice over at times. Spring temperatures rise through the 40s and 50s°F, commonly about 40–60°F (4–16°C) as the lake mixes. In summer the surface usually warms most days into the upper 60s to upper 70s°F, roughly 68–80°F (20–27°C), though heat waves can push it a few degrees higher. During autumn the water cools again into the 50s and low 60s°F, approximately 10–18°C, with progressively chillier conditions as winter approaches. Deeper water remains cooler year-round and the lake can stratify in warm months, so surface readings don’t reflect temperatures below the thermocline.
Swimming at Leaser Lake is generally not permitted under county park rules, primarily for safety and management reasons. The site is not staffed with lifeguards, has variable depths and submerged hazards, and is managed chiefly for fishing and boating rather than supervised recreational swimming. Water quality monitoring is oriented toward ecological and fishery goals rather than guaranteeing safe contact recreation, so local regulations prohibit swimming to reduce risk and liability. Visitors should follow posted signs and county guidance.
