*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Ciriša ūdenskrātuve (Ciriša Reservoir) typically follows the seasonal patterns of small Latvian reservoirs. In spring the water is still cold, often ranging from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as snowmelt and cooler air temperatures dominate. By summer the surface commonly warms to roughly 16–22 °C (61–72 °F), and during warm spells shallow areas may reach 24–25 °C (75–77 °F). In autumn temperatures fall again to roughly 8–15 °C (46–59 °F) as cooling weather returns. In winter the reservoir usually freezes or stays close to freezing, with water below or near 4 °C (39 °F) under the ice and open-water temperatures close to 0 °C (32 °F).
Recreational swimming is possible at Ciriša ūdenskrātuve when conditions are favorable, especially in summer when surface temperatures are comfortable, but access and safety depend on local rules, water quality and infrastructure. Authorities or signage may restrict swimming near dams, intakes or privately managed banks, and algae blooms or poor water quality can make bathing inadvisable. Ice cover in winter makes open-water swimming hazardous without special precautions. As with any natural reservoir, swimmers should assess temperature, currents, underwater obstacles and posted guidance before entering the water.
