** Average - Average water temperature on this day in recent years
*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Aulejas is a small inland lake in Latvia that follows the typical seasonal temperature patterns of northern European lakes. In early spring, as ice breaks up, surface temperatures are low, roughly 3–8 °C (37–46 °F). By late spring and early summer the water warms to about 12–18 °C (54–64 °F). Peak summer temperatures in shallow areas can reach 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) during heat spells, while deeper sections stay a few degrees cooler. In autumn the water cools again to roughly 8–12 °C (46–54 °F) before ice forms; under ice in midwinter the lake remains near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) depending on depth and snow cover.
Swimming in Lake Aulejas is generally possible and commonly practiced in the warmer months when surface temperatures are comfortable. There may be public access points or informal bathing spots rather than developed beaches, so whether swimming is allowed can depend on local rules or private shoreline ownership; visitors should observe signage and local guidance. Water quality can vary seasonally, so it is sensible to check for notices about algal blooms or contamination. Cold-water and ice swimming require proper precautions; in winter open-water plunges should only be done with appropriate safety measures and knowledge of ice conditions.
