*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Širvėna (Širvėnos ežeras) typically follows the seasonal temperature patterns of shallow lakes in northern Lithuania. In spring the surface water usually ranges from about 4–12 °C (39–54 °F) as the lake thaws and gradually warms. By early to mid-summer typical temperatures rise to roughly 12–18 °C (54–64 °F), with warm spells pushing surface readings into a more comfortable 18–24 °C (64–75 °F) and only occasionally reaching around 25–26 °C (77–79 °F) in very warm summers. In autumn the water cools again to approximately 10–15 °C (50–59 °F), and in winter the lake approaches freezing at about 0 °C (32 °F) and is commonly ice-covered for part of the season.
Swimming in Lake Širvėna is possible and commonly practiced at designated beaches and recreation spots during the warmer months, subject to local rules and water-quality monitoring. Because temperature can vary quickly with weather and depth, swimmers should heed posted signs, seasonal water-quality reports and any lifeguard or municipal guidance. Late-summer algal blooms, colder deep water, submerged hazards and winter ice cover can limit safe swimming, so following local advisories ensures the safest experience.
