*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Rubikiai (Rubikių ežeras) is a medium‑sized lake in northeastern Lithuania whose surface temperatures vary strongly with the seasons. In spring, as ice melts, water typically ranges from about 1–10 °C (34–50 °F) and can feel brisk well into May. Summer surface temperatures commonly reach roughly 17–24 °C (63–75 °F) on warm days, making late June through August the most comfortable period for swimming. In autumn the water cools again to around 8–14 °C (46–57 °F), and by winter the lake usually approaches freezing with surface temperatures near 0–4 °C (32–39 °F) under ice cover when the lake is frozen over for part of the season.
Swimming in Lake Rubikiai is generally possible and is most popular in the summer months when surface temperatures are highest. Public bathing is normally allowed at accessible shores and informal beaches, though local authorities monitor water quality at popular spots during the bathing season; visitors should heed any posted warnings or restrictions. Winter swimming or ice bathing is practiced by some, but it requires experience, safety measures and awareness of ice conditions to avoid hypothermia and other hazards. As with any natural lake, variable depth, underwater vegetation and sudden temperature changes mean swimmers should exercise caution and prefer supervised or known safe areas.
