*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Lake Ieva (Ievas ezers) typically follows the thermal pattern of small Latvian lakes. In spring the water is chilly as the lake thaws, often ranging from about 2–10 °C (36–50 °F) in April and May. During summer the surface warms to more comfortable levels, usually between 15–22 °C (59–72 °F) in June to August, and on warm late-summer days it can reach the mid-20s °C (mid-70s °F). In autumn the temperature drops again to roughly 8–14 °C (46–57 °F) as cooling and mixing set in. In winter the lake is commonly ice-covered and the liquid water beneath or in unfrozen pockets remains close to 0–4 °C (32–39 °F).
Swimming in Lake Ieva is generally possible and commonly undertaken in the warmer months when surface temperatures are suitable for recreation; shallow bays warm more quickly and are preferred for casual bathing. Swimming is limited or inadvisable during spring and autumn when water is cold and hypothermia risk rises, and it is normally not permitted on ice except for organized winter-swimming events with safety measures. Local authorities may close access for public-health reasons such as cyanobacterial blooms or contamination, so swimmers should heed posted notices and choose monitored, designated bathing spots when available.
